Dovestones has a solution called AD Find and Replace. The product is designed to find and replace text strings in AD in just about most ways you may need including the use of wild cards to find patterns in attribute content and replace them.

The example they give on their website is replacing the server name in the home folder path. Replacing \\server\shareA\%username% with \\server\shareB\%username. This seems pretty powerful since it allows the variable of %username% to be maintained while only changing the server name.
